There’s a buzz and level of excitement for the new Wii video game Disney Epic Mickey I haven’t seen since Pac Man Fever. Did I totally date myself with that reference? People were clambering to get a sneak peek at the game before it was released at the Festival of the Masters. Our conversation with Epic Mickey creative director Warren Spector set a DIS Unplugged record for comments on a blog. The game was launched Nov 30th at an event at the Times Square Disney Store complete with Dancing with the Stars champion Jennifer Grey, her co-competitor Kyle Massey, and a rare appearance by Steamboat Willie himself. However, even though Epic Mickey has launched, we at the DIS Unplugged are not through giving away prizes. Epic Mickey is sure to be epic.
I’ve sort of lost interest in my Wii in the last year, so I’m sort of excited about this game. Hoping it will bring back some of my interest. Right now, the Wii is just collecting dust.
Watched an On Demand episode about the making of Epic Mickey and the backstory. Now I’m hoping Santa brings me this game and I don’t like games!
I would love to check this game out, especially after hearing the great reviews.

I’m so disappointed. I thought my girls would be jumping all over this game but so far they’re not nearly as excited as I am. I’m hoping Santa brings me a copy of EM!
As a huge game playing geek I can’t wait to get my hands on this game!!! This game has me thinking that I might need my own Wii since the kids hog the one in the living room. 🙂 Sure would be a wonderful birthday present for me and lessen the pain of getting one step closer to a new decade.

I’m not a gamer but I am really excited about this game. I hope it’s fun for us amateurs too. I’m hoping my son and I can enjoy this together instead of me just watching him play like I usually do.

I just love they are using Onward in the game. I love that they resurrected old characters.
This game looks so great. I really want to run out and buy it now but have stopped myself from doing so until after Christmas. Need to spend the money on gifts first. I do plan on getting it after the holidays though and can’t wait to try it out.

Had the chance to try Epic Mickey and found it very addicting once I figured out what to do. I’m not a gamer at all but found after a lot of trial and error I got it. My son said it acts pretty similar to a lot of the “old school” games he’s played. His daughter who is 7 tried to play and was not able to manage all of the actions but she and I found we acted as a great team. She really picked up details on how to play so she told me what to do and I manipulated the buttons. It was a lot of fun. Are you listening Santa?
