Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Opens at Disneyland

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique opened this past April at the Disneyland Resort, CA, and I took the opportunity to go visit it.ย  The Boutique is an enchanting stop at the Magic Kingdom for young girls to turn into princesses and young boys can become knights.

It sits in the Sleeping Beauty Castle courtyard, and as soon as you pass through the castle entrance you will find it.

This is the view of the shop as you look at it from the castle.

At the entrance to the boutique Fairy Godmothers in Training greet guests as they pass by, and will sprinkle you with pixie dust if you wish.

I was dusted by this young maiden as I was about to pass by. The ladies are extremely friendly and accommodating.

There are two entrances to the boutique. The sign is over the main entrance.

The Boutique is charmingly decorated as a cottage, and the detail to the decorations is really enchanting.

The theme is Cinderella, and you will see touches throughout the castle of the little characters, as well as other touches. The attention to detail is just wonderful.

Take a look at Cinderella’s dress above, and you may see some evidence that this boutique is no ordinary shop, but quite magical in Disney’s way.

In the shop you will see samples of the beautiful princess dresses available.

Behind the cash register guests get a glimpse of Flora, Fauna, and Meriweather.

This wall separates the boutique from the shop. The colors and detail in the stained glass window is just beautiful.

The shop is filled with outfits with coordinating accessories.

Each princess theme comes with a dress, slippers/shoes, , tiara, gloves, barrettes, and other fun accessories.

This gives you an idea how the dresses and accessories are next to each other for easy shopping.

Wall of princess hats, and princess ears. There were so many things to choose from, but at the same time, the shop is so well-laid out that it is not overwhelming. There were quite a few happy little girls shopping, and some happier girls getting make-overs.

Even young knights will find something here. As I walked past, I saw a young man brandishing a sword. He saw me watching him, and sheepishly put the sword back. I laughed & told him my 20-year old son would be doing the same thing.

The boutique sits at the back of the shop where Fairy Godmothers in training are waiting to transform little girls into princesses for the day. There are also Disney photographers to capture the moments. Parents are also welcome.

BBB Boutique overview

Each person will have one to two Fairy Godmothers in Training (FGiT) to dress and pamper them. This view is looking toward the front. The shop is on the other side of the wall.

Lindsey was kind enough to let me take a picture of her. The birds on the drapes are not just decorations. They are holding the curtains closed.

Here a young lady has just been made up. With a twinkling sound, the birds open the drapes, revealing a mirror to view the handiwork. I thought this was such a nice touch.

I received permission from this little princess’s mother to take her picture. She was a little shy at first. The young FGMiT is the one who did her makeover. She got the complete package, from the top of her head to the tips of her shoes.

Look at that smile. She was so adorable in her little outfit.

The detail to the makeover is subtle, and the young princesses look enchanting when they’re done.

Well, I have to say that I was very impressed with the Bibbidi Bobbiti Boutique. The shop itself is enchantingly beautiful and the cast members were friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this.

Great blog Mary Jo. I love your second picture with the sign and the castle in the background. That is a great shot, and what a clear, blue sky.

Ok, I hope my question does not offend. I have always steered my daughter away from these kinds of paces because I thought the children looked far too ‘over done’ when their makeup was complete. That is – too adult, or perhaps made up beyond what I believe to be appropriate for their age. In your pictures, the makeup looks much more understated than I saw in WDW or have seen at our local places like Blush or even the Libby Lou that was in DTD before. Is it just the pictures or do you think it is more understated?

    Thanks, Dave. ๐Ÿ™‚

Daneenm ~ I didn’t see any young girls look really made up. There was shimmer on the eyes, a tiny bit of blush maybe, and gloss on the lips. There was shimmery (glitter?) stuff in their hair, and they could get hair pieces. Also, they get a patch on their cheeks.

What they get out of it is feeling very special and pampered. I think parents can also tell the “Fairy Godmothers in Training” to go light on the makeup, and wouldn’t have a problem with it.

I thought it was very well done.

Oh my goodness!! We are coming over in September and we arent bringing our 4 year old girls, but if they were coming they would have thought they had gone to heaven!

It is a wonderful idea…Maybe I should ask if they can do me up.

Will definately be buying some things in here for the girls.

    Awesome work

We visited the store in March 2011. My two girls got the full Princess makeover. It was an amazing experience, the fairy godmothers in training were so good with my girls. Seeing the transformation from girls into Princesses brought tears to my eyes… I would take my girls to Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique every few months if I lived closer..
Thank you to the amazing ladies that work there…

If your daughter is that much of a Princess fan, you might as well try it. My daughter is more of the “rock star” type, so she loves Disney Studio 365 a bit better. He’s the blog I wrote for her styling there. http://www.disunplugged.com/2011/04/28/rockin%e2%80%99-out-at-downtown-disneyland%e2%80%99s-studio-disney-365/

No matter which one you choose, the girls who do this really love the attention it brings from Cast Members, as well as other guests – it’s a great self esteem boost and a fun way to make a day special. If you want to save a bit of cash, get the dress before you leave on your trip. The ones at the Disney Store are less expensive and sometimes a more preferred design – it’s all a matter of your personal taste.

    Enjoy your trip!

I’m a daddy, and so I have to ask – can anyone give me a price range on this???

My 5 year old daughter would surely love it, but curious minds need to know the answer to this little “down to earth question – sorry if it ruins any of the “Disney magic” ๐Ÿ™‚
