D23: The Official Disney Fan Club just announced their calendar of events for the upcoming year. In addition to the usual events in the central Florida and southern California areas, they’re planning events in Boston, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Palm Springs and Walt Disney’s boyhood hometown of Marceline, Missouri.
“To help D23 celebrate its third ‘fanniversary,’ we developed the most exciting lineup yet of special events to bring our members truly one-of-a-kind Disney experiences,” said Steven Clark, head of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club. “We’re excited to visit our fans all around the country, and to create events we hope will surprise and delight them.”
January 23-25 – The Smoke Tree Ranch Roundup
Members can experience a three-day retreat at Smoke Tree Ranch in Palm Springs, California. Fans will take part in screenings, presentations and activities, all while staying in a Smoke Tree Ranch Cottage.
February 11 & 12 – Members Only Tours of the Walt Disney Studios and Archives in Burbank
February 25 – 20th Anniversary Screening of “Newsies”

March 14 – Journey to Marceline
A special tour of Walt’s boyhood hometown led by Disney archivists.
April 28 & 29 – Members Only Tours of the Walt Disney Studios and Archives in Burbank
May 26 – 20th Anniversary Screening of “Sister Act”

June 23 – 50 and Fabulous Screening of “In Search of the Castaways”

August 11-12 – Destination D: 75 Years of Disney Animation
As Disney marks the 75th anniversary of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, D23 marks the occasion by gathering Disney animation legends, voice talent and composers to participate in presentations, demonstrations and autograph sessions at the Disneyland Resort.
September 8 & 9 – Members Only Tours of the Walt Disney Studios and Archives in Burbank
September 22 – Screening of “Treasure Island”

October (dates TBA) – Sip & Scream
Sip & Stroll at Epcot gets a Halloween twist.
November 10 & 11 – Members Only Tours of the Walt Disney Studios and Archives in Burbank
December (dates TBA) – Disney and Dickens in Burbank
December 7-8 & 9-10 – Magic & Merriment at Walt Disney World
Dates have not yet been announced, but this Spring D23 takes the party on the road, celebrating more than 40 unforgettable Disney milestones, each celebrating an anniversary in 2012. These “Fanniversary Celebration” events will take place in Orlando, New York, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco and Los Angeles and will revisit classic theme park attractions, animated and live-action films, TV series and more. These events will be open to the public, with special admission and surprises for D23 members.
More events are expected to be announced throughout the year, including an Epcot 30th anniversary celebration and a D23 third anniversary party at the Disneyland Resort.
