Video: Creating Downtown Disney’s LEGO Buzz and Woody

Earlier this spring, Kathy Werling reported on the remodeling and expansion of the LEGO Imagination Center at the Downtown DisneyMarketplace.  The store added many new sculptures and displays all made entirely from LEGOs.  Did you ever wonder what it takes to build those elaborate displays?  Continue after the break for Disney’s video with LEGO master model builder, Erik Varszegi, as he describes the process of creating the life-size (isn’t it larger than life since they’re toys?) LEGO Woody and Buzz found in the store.

Erik Varszegi explains that the iconic pair from Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story films are made from 25,000 (Buzz) and 18,000 (Woody) individual LEGOs, and stand 5′ 3″ (Buzz) and 6′ 6″ (Woody) high.

I love these LEGO displays, and enjoyed learning more about what goes into their creation.  What do you think?  Do you like to spend some time during your vacation to marvel at the LEGO displays at Downtown Disney?  Please leave a comment below.
