Disney released a video where Joe Rohde, Senior Creative Executive for Walt Disney Imagineering, discusses the story behind Aulani, the Disney Vacation Club property currently under construction in Hawai’i. Djuan Rivers, Vice President for Disney Vacation Club and Resort in Hawai’i, says the resort is meant to be a reflection of Hawai’i culture.
Disney’s Aulani Resort and Spa is scheduled to open in the Ko Olina Resort area of Oahu, Hawai’i on August 29, 2011. Reservations are currently being accepted for hotel rooms starting at $399/night. Aulani is located on the western side of Oahu, on 21-acres of oceanfront property 17 miles from Honolulu International Airport.
