Last week, two empty shop spaces in Disneyland Park were once again open for business. A new candy shop opened in Fantasyland on Wednesday and a designer purse and jewelry shop opened in New Orleans Square on Friday. Read on for more pictures and details.
I think poor Geppetto just needs to go back to woodworking. None of his other ventures seem to work out for him, but that doesn’t stop him from trying.
The small shop between Pinocchio’s Daring Journey and the Village Haus restaurant has been the home for some varied merchandise, including toys and Christmas ornaments. Now Geppetto has gone into the candy selling business, opening Geppetto’s Sweet Shoppe.
Currently this shop features fancy caramel apples and packaged candy, nothing that isn’t available elsewhere in the park. However, one of the Cast Members did mention that they may be getting Princess Caramel Apples, which would be exclusive to Geppetto’s.
As with Geppetto’s, the Jewel of Orleans space has been many things. It opened with New Orleans Square as a perfume shop, but was most recently an estate jewelry shop run by an outside company.
Jewel of Orleans has reopened (with the same name), but is now selling designer jewelry and handbags, including Dooney and Bourke’s Disney designs.
The other good news is that the store is still intact, including the chandelier that was selected by Lillian Disney and the handpainted mirrors designed by Glendra von Kessel.
Stop by and check them out!
