Mickey Mouse Conducts World of Color’s Dancing Fountains

Disneyland pre-released a cute television spot that begins airing May 31 promoting the new World of Color nighttime show at Disney’s California Adventure.  The show is billed as a spectacular that “weaves water, color, fire, and light into a kaleidoscope of fantasy and imagination.”  The commercial features Mickey Mouse making mischief similar to “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.”  Continue after the break for a second video featuring Walt Disney Imagineers describing how they make the water dance.

In this second video, Walt Disney Imagineer Steve Davison describes the collaboration with choreographer Joshua Horner in order to bring the dancing water fountains to life.

World of Color debuts June 11 only at Disney’s California Adventure in the area surrounding Paradise Bay.  The DIS is invited to a special World of Color press event prior to the opening, and we’ll be sure to bring you photos, interviews, and stories right here on the blog.  So stay tuned!
