A sneak peek at Animator’s Palate on the Disney Dream

Disney Cruise Line has announced that the new ship, the Disney Dream will have an Animator’s Palate restaurant like on the other two ships. However, this version will be completely different. Currently, the restaurant changes from black and white to fully colored as the meal goes on. On the Dream, 129 LCD screens will play host to “Undersea Magic” as the restaurant is turned into an underwater playground. Using the technology employed in Turtle Talk with Crush, the characters from Finding Nemo will swim from screen to screen and interact with guests. They will ask questions and use people’s names, proving that this is a live experience. Crush teaches everyone to surf and by the end of dinner, the characters are turned into pencil drawings on a sketchpad.

Disney has released a fly-through look at the new restaurant. The Disney Dream is scheduled to sail its maiden voyage on January 26 2011.
