We’re hearing pretty reliable rumors that Walt Disney World’s next promotion will be free dining for travel between August 15 – September 30, 2009. If reports are correct, these will be available for booking starting on March 30th. Again this is RUMOR, so don’t bet the mortgage on this, but we’re comfortable enough with our information to put it out there.

Rats. That overlaps entire with our summer DVC trip. I had been hoping to not have to compete with so many people for ADRs. The only saving grace is that with the 90 window people can’t be making speculative ADR waiting to see if free dining is going to happen.
I believe that the Podcast team mentioned this on an earlier podcast, but I wonder if Free Dining will be for the Quick Service Plan, with an option to pay to upgrade to the regular or Deluxe Plans?
I actually booked at the end of February. I had a special invite from Disney for the free meal plan. We go in September every year and it’s awesome. Actually I was expecting this promo to come around anyway because they do it every year.

This is a great rumor. It’s the only way me and my family are able to take the trip this year if they offer FD.
Does the rumor say if you have to stay in a moderate resort to get the free dining…next trip:

I also got a special email with this offer and booked my vacation already. Offer runs Aug 16 – Oct 1 and it appears to be for all price categories. So glad Disney wants to help us stimulate the economy, you don’t have to ask me twice for the free dining plan offer. 🙂 I was secretly wishing noone else would go though. 🙂

Which restaurant is in the picture?
By price categories…do you mean we can still keep our value resort reservation to get disney free dining?
Will the code come out on March 30th? Will it be posted on The Dis right away?
I believe the picture is of Chef Mickey and yes, we always book at the value resorts with the free dining plan. The trick is that they only have a select amount of rooms available for this promo at selected resorts. So book early!
I am very surprised that a lot of people in the US don’t know about the “Free Dining” as here in the UK Disney have been doing this offer for 3 or 4 years now, although for the past 2 years you have had to book at least a moderate resort to receive the free dining. We tried it for the first time last year and when we saw the offer for this year we took it up again. If you go to a moderate resort this year you get the cheapest dining as the dining plans have been changed. We are going to the Saratoga Springs this year so we will have the Dining Plan Plus.We always go to Disney for 3 weeks every year so this is a fantastic offer for us as it saves a lot of money.
